TECH QUICKIE – NT-Dash Switch/Sensor Wiring
This one’s a really quick quickie. For on/off type switching, you’ll want to use one of the digital inputs. By default, we use digital 1 for switching pages so you’d wire DIG1 to one side of the switch and AGND to the other. If you have your dash recessed in a binnacle, the built-in light sensor will struggle so you might want to use digital 2 for dimming the screen (you’ll have to assign it in the software). If you use a DPST switch for your headlights, you can wire it up as below so that headlights and dimming happen together:
Sensor wiring is as it would be for the ECU. Take 5v from the dash, sensor signal back to one of the analog inputs and ground sensor to AGND. The dashes use a 1.5kohm pullup resistor so you could also wire-in an NTC sensor if you wanted – just don’t use the sensor scales from the ECU as they have a 1kohm pullup.
